World Economic effects of the Coronavirus pandemic crisis.

Five charts that show the global economic impact of COVID-19 World Economic Forum.

I invite you to a discussion about the economic effects of the coronavirus pandemic. And please focus on concrete examples as much as possible.

I start by giving examples of notifications received in the last two days.

I am sure that most of those who have economic activities connected to the world economy has also received such notifications. From what I see, we are preparing to enter a crisis like no other. But I'm not talking about that now. Now I just want to share the information I received with anyone who might be interested in reading it.

This hotel chain is known to everyone. Not only is it a big problem for them, but for the whole HoReCa industry.

Employees must be paid whether the hotel is empty or full, the restaurant is selling or no one is coming. There is a limited time in which employers can bear the costs. This message is aimed at customers and is an effort to keep the hotel afloat.

Tripadadvisor - Dear fellow travelers

One of the most important players in the tourism market sends messages in a desperate attempt to save what can be saved. Fear of coronavirus has led to the cessation of all reservations worldwide. It is something that has never existed in history, since the practice of modern tourism.

There have been wars before, but they have never hit globally in tourism. If there was a war in Yugoslavia, tourism in France, Spain, Italy was not affected. Tourism companies do not know how to react because there is no reference.

In transport the situation is complicated. Imposing traffic restrictions, closing many businesses, additional health requirements, employees extremely exposed to contamination, all these lead to difficulties.

Obviously, the messages are not alarmist. Try to calm the panic and inform about the changes.
