Gold foil with spells of 2,000 years ago, found recently. '' It's a very important and unic discovery ''

Scientists have discovered in eastern Serbia a series of incantations engraved on sheets of gold or silver, buried along with the remains of people who died 2,000 years ago.

In incantations invoke divine powers both good and evil, researchers are still trying to translate exactly what is written on paper.

,, Greek alphabet is, that's all we know. The language is Aramaic, this is a new mystery of the Middle Ages, '' said Miomir Korac from the Archaeology Institute in Belgrade.

,, I deciphered the names of some demons related to Syria's territory today, '' added Ilija Dankova. Spells were discovered inside amulets engraved on thin sheets of precious metal surrounded by decorative symbols. Each sheet was the size of a pack candy, but his time was invaluable.

The archaeological site is located near the town Kostoloc today, belonged to the Romans between I and VI centuries AD, under the name of Viminacium. Researchers estimated that the artifacts were buried around the fourth century AD

Although this is the first discovery of spells in Serbia, researchers have seen similar incantations written on clay tablets in countries like Britain or Egypt. Spells were written for a person to have some benefit or be damned, people were buried with them to lead them either to demons or angels in the afterlife.

Usually links ,, were in love, ordering the man to fall in love, but there were dark spells such as: ,, Let your body become dead, cold and hard as the hub, '' said Dankova.

In 2006, one of the tablets was found in a grave in Leicester (UK) which date from the second century d.Hr, which required a god damned be a thief; ,, For god Maglus, the offender who stole his mantle Servandus be destroyed until the ninth day. ''

Dankova said these spells were buried with the deceased who suffered a tragic death, they considered these people found its soul ,, hard way ''. Mantras can reveal more about the beliefs of people who lived in Viminacium.

,, It is an important archeological discovery reveals how luxurious as was the lives of people in that area and how much believed in spells on the sheets, '' said Korac.

,, According to my knowledge, have not been discovered such incantations written on gold leaf, '' he added.

Bound lead tablets of magic inscriptions (300–500 AD)

There is evidence that the Roman Empire was going through a religious transition during the fourth century and is widely used both Christianity and pagan gods. ,, On the tablet appear different entities, both being invoked Christ and pagan gods. The transition to Christianity was slow, '' added Korac

The team is in the midst excavations until they finish digging and correctly analyzed the relics we can know more about this mystery.

Babylonian Mythology Gods list and myths date from 700 B.C

Most records of Babylonian myths date from 700 B.C., when they were transcribed in cuneiform on clay tablets and stored in the library of the Assyrian King Ashurbanipal at Nineveh. However, the two major Babylonian epics probably originated around 2000 B.C. The Epic of Creation justifies Marduk's rule over gods and men; and it reflects the political supremacy of Babylon in Mesopotamia, since Marduk was the chief god of that city. The Gilgamesh Epic shows the failure of man's quest to overcome death.

Generally Babylonian mythology lacks the transcendental quality of the myth of Osiris. It is more earth-bound and more materialistic. Death puts an end to the sensual pleasures of life, and the underworld of the dead is the most dismal place imaginable. The Babylonian gods themselves indulge in eroticism, feasting, and fighting. But if the values are coarser and more masculine, the Babylonians produced a literary triumph in the Gilgamesh Epic.

Major Babylonian Gods

Anu, the head of the gods, reigned in the uppermost part of heaven and had an army of stars to destroy evildoers.

Enlil, god of the hurricane and deluge, was also the source of royal power and dealt out good and evil to men.

Ea, a god of the waters, was a benefactor to nature and men by virtue of his all-encompassing wisdom.

Marduk was a fertility god and the principal deity of Babylon. He established lordship over all the other gods by killing the malevolent and chaotic Tiamat and by creating the world out of Tiamat's body.

Sin, the moon god, was an enemy to the wicked, shining his nightly light upon their deeds. His children were Shamash, the sun, and Ishtar, the planet Venus.

Shamash was the sun god, a dispenser of light and justice to the world, but also the god of prophecy.

Ishtar or Inanna, one of the most popular Babylonian deities, was the goddess of sexuality, a potent force among beasts and men. She sanctified temple prostitution. Lustful herself, Ishtar had numerous lovers, most of whom had dreadful fates.

                      Isthar

One of Ishtar's lovers was the harvest god Tammuz. When he died of her love Ishtar wailed bitterly. Thinking to retrieve Tammuz from the kingdom of death, Ishtar entered the seven portals to the underworld. At each portal she left one of her garments or pieces of jewelry until at last she stood naked before Ereshkigal, the queen of the dead. Ereshkigal had Ishtar imprisoned and assaulted her with sixty illnesses. During this incarceration the earth withered and became desolate, and the gods of heaven mourned.

Marduk (Sumerian spelling in Akkadian AMAR.UTU "solar calf"; Biblical Merodach) was the name of a late generation god from ancient Mesopotamia

Finally Ea, the god of wisdom, took matters in hand and through his magical intervention Ishtar was released. Allowed to leave, she gathered up her garments and jewelry, accompanied by Tammuz, who was allowed to stand guard at the gates of heaven. Upon Ishtar's return the earth changed from winter to spring.

The Divine Power That Is in the Believer

In Matthew 13:11, Jesus told the disciples, "To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to [the crowd] it has not been granted." As followers of Christ, we, too, have the privilege to know all of the truths God has chosen to reveal in Scripture.

But do you ever feel as if other believers are somehow in on a secret that you don't know? Do you ever have the sense that they have managed to solve the mystery of how to rejoice in suffering, conquer sin, forgive the unforgivable, or live a life of love in ways you haven't yet discovered?

If that's your situation, then I have good news for you. So draw near to hear, and open your eyes to see the truth: The secret to living the Christian life is to become best friends with the Holy Spirit. He has all the right qualities for that role and will not disappoint you-the Bible teaches us that the Spirit of God is someone we can lean on, who helps us make the right decisions, and with whom we can share our deepest feelings (John 14:17; 16:13; 2 Cor. 13:14).

And the Holy Spirit offers believers much more. He loves us, protects us, and assists when we pray. He also works in and through us with divine power, and helps us to become like Jesus.

God's Spirit is a person with whom we can have a close personal relationship-and He has our best interest at heart. Ask Him to reveal Himself to you through the Scriptures, and then be prepared to have a friend unlike any earthly companion-one who is with you constantly, whispering of your heavenly Father's mercy and your Savior's love.

5 Myths About Christianity and Modern Life

bible

Christianity is the world's largest religion by a landslide. At over 2 billion adherents there is no religion or belief system even close. But the big guy is always an easy target. Write a book calling Jesus a zealot, point out an example of hypocrisy or just declare some biblical value as narrow-minded and you will have loads of mostly unchallenged media attention.

The half-truths, lies and myths about Christianity seem to increase at the rate of social media growth. There are falsehoods about science and Christianity, the divinity of Christ and the veracity of the Bible. There are so many half-truths it would take volumes to dispel them. And there are the myths. These are five that warrant examination.

Jesus Was Only A Teacher & Zealot

Jesus claimed to be God. He claimed to forgive people's sins, humanity would be accountable to him and he was the way, truth and life. He was much more than just a teacher. He was certainly not a revolutionary, in fact, large numbers of people stopped following him when he did not preach an overthrow of the Roman occupation.

All in One: the Gentle and Fierce Nature of God and Jesus - Bible

Jesus has never been accused of being a liar nor did his followers lie about him since the gospels were not written in a mythic style. He did not have a messiah complex, which involves incredible egotism, inability to love and no compassion for others, none of which remotely resembles Jesus.

Maybe what really bothers some is Jesus' claim as the only way to God. The religion of secular culture is "equality" and Jesus message sounds scandalous. He preached equality amongst people but for himself he made it clear he was the savior of the world.

People Become Christians Through Social Conditioning

Myths can mix a little truth with a lot of error. It is true that many people become Christ followers when they are young influenced by their family and upbringing. But the greatest social conditioning of any person happens when they attend a college or university. No one can honestly deny the significant changes that take place while a person is in the college environment.

This social conditioning can change a person's morality, politics and faith. Lenin said, "Give me four years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted." Far from Christianity conditioning people to faith, the academy does everything it can to condition them away from faith.

Christianity Is A Crutch For The Weak

A crutch presupposes a need and some type of aid. Those who dismiss Christianity as a crutch are denying their own weaknesses. What mentally healthy person says they have no needs? It is emotionally weak to deny your innate neediness. What relationship has any hope of longevity when one person denies they have needs? A person who has fears of vulnerability or dependency might not acknowledge her needs. Someone who has pride and wants to be self-sufficient (as if anyone really can be) might not state his needs. But healthy people know they have needs and Christ meets those needs. Jesus is not a crutch he is a cure for the sin disease that plagues every one of us.

Christianity Stifles Personal Freedom

Researchers at Harvard, Duke and other universities have found that Christian faith and church attendance are associated with less social isolation, lower risk of substance abuse, lower rates of suicide, greater happiness and life satisfaction.

Redhawk500's Blog

This does not sound like people who are not free. Jesus' truth sets us free from self-deception. False freedom can actually lead a person into behaviors that result in life controlling issues.

Those who say their freedom is stifled really mean they don't want standards that place absolute claim on them. They want freedom to do whatever they want without being accountable to God. Jesus gives us freedom not to do whatever we want but to become all we were meant to be.

Christianity Is Irrelevant to Modern Life
Christian-world-map
Christianity speaks to real life – work, finances, relationships, health, success, sex and more. The
Bible provides principles which help with life issues any person may face. Beyond church services the ways to access this information is more abundant than ever including podcasts, blogs, videos, apps and more.

No group, institution or government does more for the social needs of people than the Church. Poverty alleviation, educating children, disaster relief are all being addressed by Christ followers in a stunning number of ways.

Of course universal spiritual issues like the meaning of life, what happens when we die and purpose for living are all questions for which Christianity uniquely provides answers. Millions of transformed lives prove all these myths to be untrue.

What is the secret message in the Sistine Chapel painted by Michelangelo in Rome?

At age 17 he began dissecting corpses from the local church cemetery. Between 1508 and 1512 he painted the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel in Rome. Michelangelo Buonarroti, known throughout the world as an artistic genius with exceptional achievements in painting, sculpture and architecture, was also a great anatomist, who secretly hid by destroying all of his anatomical sketches and notes. However, his secret was revealed thanks to an analysis in more than 500 years after it was hidden from the eyes of Pope Julius II even in the body of God.

Pope Julius II Biography photo: ThoughtCo

This is the conclusion of two experts in neuroanatomy at the School of Medicine Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. The two experts analyzed the "Separation of Light from Darkness", a scene from the creation of the world that Michelangelo painted the Sistine Chapel ceiling, and concluded that the artist had hidden an image of a human brain in God's image.

The Conversation of God Sistine Chapel

Researchers say that Michelangelo's painting is a very accurate representation of the human brain, the spinal marrow and brain stem. Frank Meshberger first physician who identified similarities between the representation of God and the human brain, says that Michelangelo surrounded Divinity with the "shroud" like the human brain to suggest that God had endowed Adam not only with life, but with supreme intelligence that people exhibit.

Michelangelo painted the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel in four years, making images from east to west, starting and ending at the entrance to the chapel above the altar. Last painted scene depicts God separating light from darkness. In this region, the researchers found that Michelangelo hid brain stem, eyes and optic nerve.

Art critics and historians were surprised by anatomical irregularities in Michelangelo portrayed how God's neck in this scene and how strange it was lit this region. Suk and Tamargo says that it is not error, but a hidden message.

The two experts said that in no other painting is no longer the mistake anatomical human neck, and if this image is superimposed on a photograph of a human brain from below, the lines of God's neck exactly match the features of our brain . Researchers say the optic nerves are represented in exactly the same manner as was illustrated by Leonardo da Vinci in 1487. Da Vinci and Michelangelo lived in the same period, each of the artists knowing each other's work.

The two experts in neuroanatomy concludes that "Michelangelo has enriched this painting depicting what God hidden images of the brain in this way not only celebrating God's glory, but the glory of His most magnificent creation."

Other experts launches another hypothesis regarding the meaning of these secret messages. It is no secret that Michelangelo's relationship with the Catholic Church became strained towards the end of his life, the artist came to detest the opulence and corruption of the Church. Moreover, in his masterpiece Michelangelo painted face in two places, both tortured. Therefore, some experts say that the hidden message is that God gave Adam his intelligence, but that intelligence and bodily organ that makes it possible to allow people to reach God without that relationship to be mediated by the Church.

You may never know the real reason Michelangelo inserted human brain representation masterpiece that combines art, religion, science and faith in a challenging and amazing artistic work,
